What should an electrician website include?

A good electrician website should name every service you take on — EICRs, fuse boards, rewires, EV chargers — show your registration where it can be checked, carry photos of tidy work, and give both callers and landlords an easy way to reach you.

  • Tap-to-call contact

A tripping fuse board gets searched from a phone in a dim hallway — and a landlord on a ring-round will not dig for contact details. The electrician who can be rung in one tap gets the conversation.

  • Services in the customer's words

EICRs, landlord certificates, fuse box upgrades, fault finding, rewires, EV chargers. Plenty of people still type fuse box when they mean consumer unit — a good site carries both.

  • The work you don't take

If three-phase supplies or data cabling sit outside your remit, say so. It reads as a professional who knows their lane, and it spares you the wrong phone calls.

  • A registration that can be checked

Anyone can verify an electrician on a public register in a couple of minutes — careful customers and landlords do exactly that. Your number belongs in plain sight, not the footer.

  • Photos of tidy work

Electrical work is one of the few trades where tidiness is the product: a straight run of trunking, a labelled board, a clean EV charger install. Recent photos show the standard before a word is exchanged.

  • Routes for callers and landlords

Faults come in by phone, from someone who wants a person now. Certificate work arrives by email, from an agent with a property list. Carry both on every page — and say which areas you cover.

Electrical work gets bought in two ways. Homeowners ring about faults and upgrades when something stops working; landlords and agents work through certificate deadlines with a shortlist and a diary. Your website has to pass both inspections — reachable in one tap for the first, checkable in one search for the second.

Every electrician website we build carries all six — that is the starting structure, not an upgrade.

An example electrician website.

This is our Bristol electrician demo — the structure we build for electrical businesses, finished: named service pages for rewiring and EV charging, a recent-projects gallery, customer reviews and accreditation proof on show.

A registration customers can check.

We make the qualifications and memberships you actually hold easy for customers to see.

Much of the UK’s domestic electrical work must be certified or notified under building rules when it is carried out — and the registers are public, so landlords and careful homeowners check an electrician before they ring.

The one customers know

NICEIC

One of the names customers and landlords actually recognise — and a public register they can search in minutes to check a business before ringing it.

How it can appear on your site

NICEIC Approvedyour registration, shown here

Whichever body you’re registered with — NICEIC, NAPIT or another — it goes near the top of your site and beside the services it covers, only where you hold it.

  • NAPIT

A government-approved certification body registering electrical installers across the UK.

  • ECA

The Electrical Contractors’ Association — the industry’s trade association in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

  • SELECT

The trade association for Scotland’s electrical contracting industry.

  • Part P

The building-rules framework for domestic electrical work in England and Wales — Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own rules.

No website can put you on any of these registers — the assessments are yours to pass. We place the registrations you already hold where no visitor can overlook them.

Electrician questions, answered.

Most of my work is landlord certificates — what should my site show?

Landlords and letting agents buy differently from homeowners: several properties, a deadline, and a shortlist of electricians to ring. Your site is built to answer their checks up front — EICRs and landlord certificates named as services in their own right, your registration number where it can be verified, the areas you cover, and an email route for sending over a list of properties.

All my work comes from recommendations — do I still need a website?

A recommendation is a name, and names get looked up. Before they ring, most people want to see real jobs, confirm you're registered and find your number — and they go looking online for all three. Your website is the check a recommendation has to pass.

Can EV charger installation be its own service?

Yes — you choose your services when you sign up, and each one gets its own page. EV charging, EICRs, rewires, smart-home work: name the jobs you want more of and the site is built around them, and you can add or change services later.

I don't have good photos of my work — what goes in the gallery?

Professional trade images to start with — we include them wherever you have none of your own yet. Then, as jobs finish, swap in the real thing straight from your phone: a tidy consumer unit change or a neat EV charger install says more about you than any stock picture could.

What happens when I need the site changed?

Send the change over in plain words — from your phone is fine — and a real person makes it. Adding EV charging to your services, a new fuse-board photo, a wider coverage area: changes like these are part of the monthly price, not extras.

Will my registration number actually be on the site?

Yes. Your registration number and the body you're registered with go where visitors look — near the top of your site and beside the services they cover. If you hold more than one, a certification body and a trade association membership, say, they all go on.
